Who is Tirzah International?

In today’s world, women and girls have little to no value in many cultures and societies. Women are denied opportunities for education and jobs in the workforce simply for being female. Seen as being property or a nuisance, women and girls are often sold, neglected or even killed for their gender. Such devaluing of women not only violates basic human rights to a full and thriving life, it creates a ripple effect of destructive proportions around the globe. Poverty, illiteracy, disease and violence continue at an all-time high with many societies pointing to women as being the problem.

At Tirzah International, we believe women are actually part of the solution to these great global issues, not the problem.

Women are powerful contributors of ingenuity and labor to the global and local economy. They are the caretaker of children and the heartbeat of the home and healthy communities. When a woman is educated, given access to healthcare and a way to provide for her family, the life-giving effects are seen and felt throughout her family, community and nation. A woman who has been given opportunity will turn and provide opportunity for countless others. This natural positive ripple effect is why Tirzah International believes that, to make a significant difference in today’s world, the best investment one can make is in the life of a young girl or woman.

A global network of national movements, Tirzah partners with local groups to address issues of poverty, education, trafficking, HIV/AIDS and violence against women and girls. We do this through capacity-building training, leadership development, socio-economic partnerships and advocacy. Working at the grassroots level, we uphold a holistic, Christ-centered relief model to bring healing, opportunity and hope to women and girls worldwide.
